Dairy Program details now available:
10am Tom Kilcer- Giving Alfalfa the best chance, what to do when it fails. Tom will be talking all things alfalfa; from planting to cutting schedule to fertility requirements. What to do when your alfalfa is killed out over winter. What are your options – how do those options feed, what do those options require management wise.
11am David Rose – Diversifying the dairy farm: Poultry, swine or custom work. David will be talking diversification. What are other dairy producers doing alongside milking cows? What are the 3 most common secondary enterprises David sees producers getting involved in? What are the financial risks/rewards of each of these 3 options.
After lunch Producer Panel – 2025: Where do you want to be, how do you plan to get there. Invited producers will be discussing where they see themselves operationally in 5 years time, compared to where they are today. What steps do they need to take to get there along with the risks/opportunities they see on the horizon.
