Four generations of innovation and experience has enabled John Hambly from Gwillimdale Farms – a vegetable and grain farm located in Bradford, West Gwillimbury – to prosper into a truly modern agricultural business. Owned and operated by John and Cristina Hambly, Gwillimbury Farms started in row crop farming and dairy, but in 1995, John changed direction to focus on grain crops and root vegetables for the fresh vegetable market. The business is currently comprised of 2000 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat, as well as 1000 acres of carrots, potatoes, onions, beets, parsnips, and cabbage. In 2007, the farm grew again when they invested in their own on-site vegetable packaging facilities. The Hambly Family and it’s team continued to grow Gwillimdale to be a quality grower and supplier of fresh root vegetables for North American markets. Regularly travelling and scouring the world for new technology and ideas, Gwillimdale continues to invest in new, efficient equipment and have plans to further expand their operations and marketing team for continued success in the marketplace. In 2016 John purchasing land in New Liskeard. A new project in early stages that John Hambly is looking forward to develop for years to come.
